Celtic are coming to Seattle, (I'll be going to cheer on the Sounders, tickets included in the season ticket)
after Chelsea, Cardiff and Preston in the last few years
One local soccer blogger caused a bit of a rumpus after stating that Seattle Sounders should not be involved with such 'racist' clubs as Celtic.
The rumor is that Man Utd will play the MLS all-stars (anouncment expected tomorrow (Friday) at 2 PM EST)
edit : its already announced

MLS All-Stars are 5-0-1 in previous All-Star games against international opponents.
From the article in the OP...

That far south? Sounds a bit unlikely to me!
Saints always seem to go to Sweden/Norway for their pre-season. Surely it is not that much harder to come over to the USA.
I'll put out a wild prediction. Within the next 10 years I bet a proper top flight English league game is played in the USA. The NFL now plays a regular game in the UK - it's only a matter of time before it happens in reverse.
So Stockport v Saints in 2020 in NYC. See you there Manc!

How do you confuse a Man U fan? Show him a map of Manchester.
That was my first thought, too!

Like it
The Boston GLobe has already had to make an apology to Rangers, the paper wanted the game cancelled and was blaming Rangers fans for everything under the sun, including the Ibrox disastor
