Yes, it's all like that ... except for the part with the Yorkshire dales in it. Oh and the moors. And Harrogate. And York. And the beautiful coast around Whitby. And the cute little market towns. And the farm shops selling fresh produce. And the gorgeous villages. Oh and I almost forgot the stone cottages. But apart from all that ... yeah, it pretty much sucks

I am glad you are back in the UK and happy. I did wonder about you and your family. Must be a big relief to see your son happy again.
Good luck.

Oh, Sally, you make me laugh! We hung on to our house in North Yorkshire when we moved to the USA. Best thing we could have done. When we went back for a visit it all looked so breathtakingly beautiful! I also like British weather, having been in countries that have extreme temperatures I think we are pretty lucky!

I have come back to North Yorkshire from Alberta in Canada. The job situation is a bit slow, but it depends what industry you are in.I have already got a job,OH has had an interview but no job offer as yet, but then he is only looking for exactly what he wants. If you want to work you can.
Daffodils are peeing through and looking forward to Spring.
Not perfect yet but we are getting there.

Glad to hear of a happy camper! Here's a really useful website for anyone returning or thinking of returning to the UK. It's called
moneysavingexpert.com. It's edited by UK consumer guru Martin Lewis & has oodles of money saving ideas, tools and guides to almost everything UK. Best of all there are no ads & you can get a free weekly newsletter. They have over 5 million subscribers! I've found a ton of useful info there.

So glad to hear you are having fun and settling in.
Can you tell me which one found it easier to get a job? Was it the teacher out of the two of you?
The reason I ask is that I was a teacher in the UK 30 years ago and would love to return to it when I go back. I am just not sure how difficult it will be to find a job teaching - or how for that matter.
