This makes all the other Expat annoyances seem silly, insignificant

You're not wrong there!

She really is a tough one - you clearly come from strong stock. Do your kids know what they're in for down the line (hopefully a very way down the line)...?
Not sure if the new young generation of computer, Ipad, Iphone, wiz kids will be up to the task or will have the staying power

No offence to the young people.

Yup been back in FL a week now. At least its all a/c here as you know. Getting the afternoon/evening showers already. Very early for this weather pattern. You may have seen TS Beryl hitting N. FL this week. Not even hurricane season yet!

Just spoke to wife in Ft Lauderdale, she says 65mph gusts and storm this evening.

Parts of the FLL area have been getting quite strong storms. Not too bad here but a lot of rain.

Sorry to hear that, it's a call we all dread. I hope she is doing okay still.

I'm sorry for your loss. I guess it's a comfort she passed peacefully, and that she never stopped talking about coming out to visit - there's some memories to cherish & keep her in your thoughts.

Hugs to you and peace to your sister.

It must help a little to know her visit to you gave her so much joy and also some wonderful memories for you to look back on.
