The long sad trip home
On Tuesday mother had her eye removed for cancer of the eye ball. By Wednesday was home in assisted living flat. Thursday middle of the night taken to ER, fluid on lungs. Then pneumonia, they were treating her with heavy duty antibiotics, looking better Brother called, early am they are taking her off meds, kidneys and heart failing. Now in palliative care, no where to go, not looking good. I am on way to MIA - LHR. Very sad, even thigh she has had great innings 96, still not out

Wow; sorry to hear that.
My mum just left after a 6 week visit - 83 and still going strong. Reminds me why I suffer those 6 weeks ... you never know when it will be the last.

Sorry to hear about your mum. I can't imagine how heart breaking it is. I wish you both all the best and a safe journey back to England.

Very sorry to hear that. Sounds like she's a tough one - still fighting at 96!
Have a safe trip.
