Salad cream tastes great with beetroot too. The non-pickled kind of course, on whole grain bread. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
OK off to Dominicks to pick up salad cream I think!

I can get Sarsons (regular malt) in my local Dominicks but it's $6 a bottle rather than the $2 the regular one that they sell in the non-specialty aisle. The amount we go through, the regular it is! I'd probably pay $6 for the lemon vinegar though.
Also have Branston pickle in the fridge at all times...
I've been contemplating salad cream lately in my search to replace my favorite Dutch mayo but $7 a bottle? Maybe with some nice tuna...on a white bread sandwich...

we have sarsons, branston and heinz salad cream in our fridge - all courtesy of the english section of myers. we are thundering through the branstons and are on our 3rd jar in 6 months! lovely in cheese ham and picle sandwiches or with corned beef sandwiches, or the great british cheese and pickle sandwiches.
although i canbt quite imagine branston and american cheese

When you say corned beef do you mean the stuff we know as corned beef or the American kind? Can't say I noticed the UK stuff here.
We have our Branston with sharp cheddar 'deli' slices. I only eat it once a week maybe as a treat. But it's that long since Cheddar was my main cheese that I can't distinguish between local and decent Cheddar anymore. Ask me about Gouda and I'm an expert!

Aye, it's lovely, but what I miss, onion vinegar...nothing beats that to stink your car out on the way home from the chippie

I buy Sarsons there for $4 something a bottle and Heinz Salad Cream $5 something a bottle.

You can buy Homel canned cornedbeef at Meijer too... exactly the same as the stuff in the UK. If you have a Save-a-Lot near you you can buy it there too.

thats exactly what i was talking about. Tinned in brazil or argentina! the sliced stuff in the deli counter called corned beef is actually dog food - i think they got confused and stuck it in the wrong packet lol
