IRS tax on property sale form 8288
I am leaving the US and I have just discovered the IRS will withhold 15% of the sale price of my home for taxes. I am not talking about capital gains.
It's very complicated and I must look into it a bit more but my advice is don't plan to buy a property in the US until you have studied all the taxes.
