Have any of you had occasion to consult a lawyer about affairs in England or made wills which will be valid in the UK?

Please tell of your experience, how you found an international lawyer in your town, how good you think he/she was and how expensive.

You might want to post this on the USA forum as people on this forum will generally be in the UK so don't need an international lawyer to make a UK will. People on the USA forum will be in the same situation as you.

You could also check http://talk.uk-yankee.com which is for US expats living in the UK. Many of them have had to do cross-country wills under both systems.

I live in a small town and had our wills drawn up by one of the local guys. It didn't seem to present any extra problems we had some assets in the UK, and wasn't expensive.
