Default Interesting non tax resident scenerio

Have a friend that is leaving NZ for the UK before the end of tax year (March).
They are receiving some contractor income from Australia in April. They will not be arriving in the UK until September. They have not been tax resident in Australia since 2006. They will not be travelling through Australia, the income is paid gross as it relates to introduction /brokerage services (network value)
The payment is being made to their bank account in Singapore.
Where do they pay tax? as they are not domicile in Singapore and will not be travelling via South East Asia from March to September.
