Wow Flea, that's fantastic news! And yes, a flight means a very serious consideration, often only offered after one or more telephone interviews.
Knocking on wood, got a good feeling about this one.

I have just taken the biggest gamble of my life and I think it is going to pay off!
After months of enduring a workplace full of testosterone, mainly Australian testosterone at that, god help me!! I snapped. I quit,. I emailed my boss a resignation letter
I admit when i got home i was somewhat shocked at what I had done.
Later that evening, I decided to take a browse of our companies UK website. Holy moley what did I find? An recruitment ad looking for staff to do exactly what I am doing in Sydney
I couldnt believe my eyes. Fate, lady luck, whatever you want to call it, reeled me in, and I decided it is now or never. Either they tell me to get stuffed coz I jacked it in here, or they might just hear me out!!
The guy in charge does know me via email communication, so I wrote to him, poured out my whole sorry story about wanting to come home to be with my grandaughter and help in her treatments etc. Stated my case as a good candidate, and took an extremely big risk in asking them to ask my Sydney boss how good i am

Ever since I have been holding my breath. I have to work out my 4 weeks notice so have been at my desk waiting for something to happen.
Well, today it did. This afternoon boss looked at me over the top of his puter and said
"N****, I've just got an email from the London office"
GULP!! DOUBLE GULP!!
" He says you have applied for a job and wants to know how good you are"
shite.... i am about to slide under my desk
"And what will you tell him" I replied in a pathetic quiet squeaky voice
"Well... I have no choice really, I'll have to tell him the truth. You are damn good at your job"

I nearly fell off my chair. I also admit I started with the waterworks.
In short... I have been requested to fly to London for an interview!!!!!
I am in such a tail spin I cant sleep. It's 3am and I am still up looking for flights!
I just pray they give me the job! Surely they wouldnt ask me to fly all that way and say no would they? I know it's a hell of a risk but it's my only chance to get me and OH back there. If i have the job he can get his spouse visa!
How the hell am i going ot get to sleep tonight ?
