My last few weeks in South Africa were just such a blur, having to pack everything that I wanted to keep into boxes (landed up with only 5 and they are not even that big) and then packing all my winter woolies into 2 suitcases. My sister picked me up at Heathrow which was really nice and at the moment I am living with my aunt in Camberley.
It is so nice to be able to walk and take public transport everywhere.
And I even managed to use the self service scanner at Sainsburys this morning - without swearing.
So even though it was/is traumatic I am truly happy that I have made the move

Hi Sarah. Im so pleased for you. I sometimes think that the decision to return back home is harder than the decision to move in the first place. It has been for us anyway.
Hope you have loads of happy times.

Hi Sarah, How long were you in SA?
Well done making the move home, I hope things work out for you.
You are just down the road from me, I am in Wokingham

Congratulations for making the move. I truly wish you well and hope that you get everything together quickly. Camberley is a nice place to land for a while. Good luck.

Delf-service checkouts are a step too far for me. Crazy when we have 2.5 million unemployed !

Thank you all for the good wishes. It has been great this weekend catching up with my brother and sister, nice to all be in the same country for once.
Lorry 1 - thirty years in SA, although lucky enough to have a sister who works for British Airways so was able to come for visits quite regularly

Self service checkouts are great when you are buying just, say, 5 things and there are queues of people with full trolleys at the normal checkouts, and that's what they are designed for.

Welcome home! So glad it seems to be falling into place for you! Those self service checkouts can be a real challenge!
