Default I just quit work!!

I've been on Maternity leave since April last year and was due to go back to work on April 28th. However I couldn't find day care for my little girl and seeing as we plan to move back to the UK in a few months it seemed kinda pointless anyway. Plus my OH just left for LA this morning to start a new job. So now I can concentrate on getting the house sold and organizing the move.

What a great time of year to be off work... with the sun shining, i just want to sit in the garden =)

How did your work take the news Elaine?

I haven't mentioned the idea of going back to the UK to anyone at my work, I have a feeling it would be a cut throat ending. Although it is extremely hard to concentrate when you know your leaving in a few months.

Hence why i'm only on the BE website while i'm at work. HAHA

Everyone at work was really nice, I was so up tight about telling them but I was upfront with them and told them exactly why I was quitting. I work for a real estate lawyer so it would have been almost impossible to go back to work and keep my plan to move back to N. Ireland quiet. Plus my real estate agent is good friends with my boss.

Glad to hear that they took the news well, and were nice about it =)

Sorry for pesturing you Elaine, but I have a question. I see you are moving to N. Ireland, have you had much luck finding a place to move into when you arrive? If I'm being too nosey, just tell me so.

I'm not moving to N. Ireland, I'm leaning towards Cornwall. I'm having the hardest time getting a reply from an agent. I realize looking for a place to rent in July, at this point seems far away. I just don't want to wait too long, and be stuck in a rental car. Wouldn't that look wonderful your first week there!!

Hi Elaine
Good descision about the job , dosn't it feel like a weights been lifted once the descision has been made. Hope you get time to enjoy the great weather good luck with selling the house and moving back to Ireland Which part of Ireland are you headed to? most of my family , uncles and aunts are in Bangor really miss the times we spent over there especially lazy days in Crawfordsburn

Ask as many questions as you like I don't mind

As for somewhere to live we'll be moving in with my parents to start with I'll worry about finding somewhere to rent when we get there. My mum and dad are retired so at least I have someone to look after the kids while I get other stuff organized.

Good luck with finding a place, a friend of ours is trying to sell his house in Leichster so he can move to Cornwall I've never been but I hear it's lovely.

My sister lives in Bangor I'll be moving to a place called Larne at least to start with.

I'm so glad I made the decision to quit, especially with OH being away for weeks/months at a time, I reckon I have enough to do.
