All I can say is I hope it works out for you.
I'm one of those that never liked it in Melbourne and never adjusted. I actually found my journal from that time and I hadn't liked it from the beginning but kept telling myself it will get better. It took 4.5 years to realise it wouldn't.
Sometimes a place is just wrong for you, and 'give it time" (same advice I got at the time) doesn't help.
