Chess - $7600 plus (3.5% of the value of your contents - for insurance)

Kent - $7150 plus (2.5% insurance)

That's from Perth to Aberdeen next month.

Sorry forgot to say - that's sole use of a 20ft container.

$7000 for sole use of a 20 footer, Perth to West Yorkshire.

This is with Kent, had most shippers round and the highest was Pickfords at $8,500

We used Chess from Perth to Devon last year and they were good, nothing broken and took about 12 weeks door to door.

Don't use their insurance though, get cheaper from Letton Percival in UK ....go online and get their details.

We used Kents too from Perth to West Yorks, but ours cost $7,800
Then they asked for more money ($400) as they said the exchange rates had dropped so much they had to charge us more. When they have your stuff you have no choice but to pay it, so just be careful.

Sorry - I know its slightly off track but did you ship back electrical items such as TVs - we have bought new and just wondering about whether they work in UK or best to sell in Aussie. I can't say we're thinking of coming back but its playing on my mind at the moment.

YES bring them back with you, they will work.
We bought two plasma TV's in OZ. Alot of people said they wouldn't work in UK, but with a UK freeview didgi box they work perfect

We just had Crown quote AU$6,500 for half a 20ft container to Manchester.

Hi Cathy22 - Interested to see you went to Melton Mowbray. We spent a holiday in Rutland in August, bit of a reccie really. Also went to W. Midlands where we originally came from. Fell in love with the Rutland area though didn't get to Melton Mowbray (shucks ran out of time and OH did want to see Ye Old Pork Pie shop!) I see on Right move Melton Mowbray is a bit cheaper than Oakham, Uppingham etc. Did you return to "your roots". Can you give me a bit of info on how you're finding it there. We'll be coming back as OAPs and mulling over several locations.
