How long does the container take to ship back to the UK?
I am just trying to sort out in my mind the time implications of the things necessary, before I hit the OH with the results. Best not to scare the man too much
So my question.
How long have people found it takes their container to go back to the Northern Hemisphere from NZ (or Australia)?
From memory it was 12 weeks before we got our things from the UK.
Am I looking at a similar time scale?
Many thanks everyone.

It won't be until the back half of the year but just trying to start getting my head around timings and how long I would be sleeping on the floor.
Not long from the sound of it

Hi!
It depends on whether you have got an exclusive container or groupage container service from your moving company. 12 weeks sounds like groupage? It can also depend on which shipping line your removal company uses - as a guide the minimum you're looking at from NZ or Australia for an exclusive container is 7-9 weeks. If you're going groupage allow 10 - 14 depending on your removal company.
Hope that helps?

That is all in the past, - we are stuck here now, and looking to do it the other way round - NZ to UK, and I had heard rumour that it was far quicker the heading north. Just wanted to check with people what or how they had found it timewise.
Many thanks

Our 20ft container (sole use) left Perth, Australia in November 09 and arrived in UK, cleared customs and was driven from England to Aberdeen, Scotland. Arrived on 23 Dec 09 - 5 weeks after leaving us. That was using Kent removals.
Furniture now in storage at a cost of £52 a week as we were not ready for it arriving so quickly
