Default How difficult is it getting a job back in the UK?

Anyone reading this who managed to get a job back in the UK from North America: how did you manage it?

Did you apply online/via LinkedIn/via a recruiter?

How much did it cost you?

I've pretty much given up on Canada after many years of under- or unemployment and burnt out from several hundred futile job applications over 13 years. Used to work in financial media (10 years of experience) but couldn't get hired in Canadian Media so changed to IT (3 years of IT Operations experince from Helpdesk to Jr. SysAdmin).

My confidence and attitude have taken a significant hit, so I won't be as eager or keen as someone else. I've endured 12 Canada Days in Toronto and don't want to have to sit through a 13th national outpouring of Canadian smugness.

I didn't apply from Canada, but did from Australia. I just applied on a regular job site, indeed. I had a couple of Skype interviews and was offered the role.

Our son, coming back from Texas, also used https://uk.indeed.com/ and found a job within 6 weeks. He didn't apply until he was back in England, staying with us. It worked out great for him and us, as he got a job, bought a house and moved into it within 12 weeks.
