Make sure you take a trip up to Yorktown...just up the road from you..
YORKTOWN!!! Then you can take the road over to Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg AND SHOP THE POTTERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Used to be a place in Yorktown that did good seafood, Nick's I think was the name.

Also, we used to go to Pierce's Pit BBQ on the frontage rd off I-64 near the back of the Williamsburg Pottery.

Oh don't get me started about the frizzies when in Virginia - but I'm in LA for now, so just hot and dry!

Yep all those will be on the doorstep when I get back "home" to Virginia. For now it's LA dahhhhlink. Did the Griffith Observatory last weekend. This weekend we have a cruise night with classic cars and Chubby Checker, all free, so will take a little wander round and take some pics!

You must be doing Cruise night in Glendale CA, on Brand BLVD, We have done this 4-5 times and it is a total blast seeing all the great cars and the old rock n roll stars performing, I hope you have a fab time, and I am sure you will.
Please post some pics of the event if possible.. Makes me homesick just thinking about this ! .
Sorry for not staying on topic...Just could not resist..

the constant aircon over here is also drying on the skin. Sure the workplaces in the UK were air conditioned but not many homes were.

can't be that bad judging from the number of micro breweries in Oregon so it must have its uses.

add pedestrian crossing lights at junctions to the list. American ones are the only ones I know which allow traffic and pedestrians to all move at the same time. I nearly become a hood ornament in Portland yesterday.

It's the amount of chlorine that's put into the water. When I fill the bath with water it's a lovely shade of blue...the bathroom smells like I've knocked over a bottle of bleach.
