Default Home sale capital gains

Hi all,

I'm in process of putting my USA home on market. I should get the 250K capital gains allowance in USA . Anyone know how that will affect my UK tax situation when I eventually report a sale ? Thanks

If it is your primary home then there should be no capital gain tax by HMRC.

Hi countrygirl33,

That would depend on where you are living when the exchange of contracts take place UK or USA.....
