Long ago and far away...maybe here and yesterday...there was and was not a group of Rabbits who lived in a round, rocky meadow. They spent most of their day tending to their children and relatives. Making sure everyone was happy and had enough to eat. But...sometimes in the evenings they would gather together. Not only this group of Rabbits, but many others, from all over the ways, and across the paths. They would gather to play Rabbit games.
Their favorite Rabbit game was one which involved a certain Rabbit's problems. Alot of times it would be the same Rabbit, having new problems, but sometimes it could be another Rabbit with problems. No matter, the problems were always a little bit different so it kept the game interesting. Maybe a certain Rabbit would be hungry because they forgot to gather enough clover together to eat, but would say that Squirrel took his food. Or maybe one would have stumbled into a blackberry cane and cut themself, but said that someone (probably Gopher) had pushed them. Without all these problems there would be no reason for the game. And the Rabbits all knew one thing, if nothing more, there had to be a game.
So it was their way to gather around each other in a circle and sing Rabbit songs to the Moon. Sometimes their songs actually worked. The Rabbits would whisper amongst themselves the next day and giggle..."Otter (or Deer, or Mouse...) had a bad day! It is because of our songs!" So it went for many Moons. The Rabbits would gather and play their games. They thought themselves clever and very powerful.
One night when they all gathered, a particular Rabbit complained that the bright light and booming noise in the Sky was scaring him on purpose. In truth, it frightened them all, and made them jump about with it's tremendous sound, but none of the other Rabbits would admit to this. They all agreed, however, that something needed to be done about this, for the sake of their slighted friend, of course. So they all circled together in the pouring Rain, and began to sing. At first they sang loudly...but this time there was a quaver in their voices. This time they were all afraid. This time...something was different, and they all knew it.
There they were, shivering in the cold, hard Rain. The flashes of light and booming noise was terrifying them! Still they continued to sing. Their voices soon were softer, and their song slower, as the bright light and booming noise came louder and more frequently. Soon they were all shaking, not from the cold, and had quit singing. Suddenly one Rabbit ran from the circle. He was quickly hit by a flash of the bright light, which also hit all the other Rabbits around him. It was over very quickly, as was the Storm...and the Thunder flashed only a few...some say 4...more times, and It, too, was finished for the evening.
When we think no One's looking, They are. When we think we're too clever, They bring us down to Earth. No one, mortal or immortal, is above the Thunder...except Great Mysterious. But that is another Story...

But wait! Maybe the cat could change its name, and migrate to another country where it could recover from the effect its parents had on it?
