greener grass

As a newbie I have read most of the post here with in with interest, my main thought is that despite many of you being torn between the two countries, at least you had the bottle to have a go.

That's what disappoints me, is that I have thought and talked about going to oz for years , but never really had the courage, and now my excuse is that I am too old at 50.

My problem in a way is my success here, I run a small successful business, good income ,have the nice house, two cars, and children doing well at school, so its hard to say I am getting away from all this !!!.

My wife has never been keen to go and as shes says, why change when we have everything here, but for me I am still unsettled and many times wish we had gone.

We did visit perth in 92, and decided then that although a nice place it was not for us, yet as the years go on I am still looking at the other mans grass.

Is this just a male thing that no matter what success, we are always looking for more ?

More what ? I don't even know myself, I am just always restless.

You probably need a really absorbing hobby which you can feel passionate about, or more sex.

Or possibly both! :D

I once had to fill in a medical form which asked "have you ever had sex in Africa " referring to aids I presume.

As I was on holiday and the sex was with my wife , I was not sure what to reply ?

:D:D:D

Couldn't, I'd miss all the begging that goes with it. And the foreplay - shopping, or to be exact, paying for the shopping.

OP why not take two months off and really "do" Australia, travel around it and get it out your system, without all the stress and trauma of uprooting your family.

Many of us who don't mind it here mostly came because we married an Aussie etc rather than for the hell of it, and it sounds like you have a nice life in the UK and would be risking a lot on a dream of Aus.

You could also post this question on the main Australia forum where everyone will tell you to risk it all and come over btw.

Yes I agree, come over for a long holiday every few years and treat it like a holiday destination and you will really enjoy it. Living here is just like living anywhere else, same chores, same responsibilities etc and in the summer especially you get way less sex than you would elsewhere - when you are hot and sweaty every night, the last thing you want to do is actually be within 5ft of another hot and sweaty body!!!

If it aint broke, dont fix it!
