I'm in the Comox Valley so not a million miles from you. We've been here for six years and have a lovely house in the Village of Cumberland which is quite quirky I guess. It's been a great time but growing to hate it and I don't want that to happen. I'd like to leave feeling good about the experience......but so much to do.....have a baby, sell house, get dog micro-chipped and vaccinated, sell worldy possessions...again....aaaaggghh.....can't beathe![/QUOTE]

I know Cumberland, last year we were thinking of relocating up to the Comox valley and even went as far as to look at houses espcially in Comox, we thought it was nice but even more quiet than where we are now. I thought that making a move to another place would be the answer but its not.....for all the years I have been here I have not thought with my heart....just got on with trying to make it work and working hard, but even after all this time it still isnt feeling right, so got to do something about it but like most people cant just up sticks and go, will need to plan it all out properly.

Comox is super quiet adn very elderly but near to stunning beaches and the little is good as you can walk around and do your shopping. We liked Cumberland as you can walk to the bars and there's Cumberland Village Works that get amazing people to perform here from all over. There's the Big Time Out which is a fantastic music festival for non-folky...young people!! It's quite a wacky variety of people from hippies to old Cumberlanders that often snarl at us newbies. Funny. Living here has kept me very, very sane compared to living in Fanny Bay.....mmmmm...good name......the old dears and towny people call it Scumberland but it's definitely not that! Not everyone has perfect lawns though so it traumatises some and they think we're all crazy, poor, bohemian types.

So, keep me posted on your plans. Maybe we'll be doing it in sync? Scary isn't it? I have such overwhelming anxiety about it sometimes. Ah well....

Just organising a Bonfire Party....make a Guy, get the kids out on the streets to beg, burn a Guy.....all that quaint, slightly barbaric stuff.....
