Get me out of here!
#1
I drive a Mazda 5. One day I couldn't get out of Park when I put my foot on the brake. Turned out it was a sensor that basically wasn't telling the transmission I had my foot on the brake. Looked on-line and discovered a "secret" button that allows me to overide it and get the thing into Drive. Content enough and with a million other things to do, I carry on for 3 weeks like that.
Then my Check Engine Light comes on. Got to Autozone for a free diagonstic check, and it comes back to tell me my brake switch is broken. Phew... nothing new there. But they also tell me my brake lights almost certainly don't work. Sure enough, I've been driving for 3-weeks without brake lights! So now full steam ahead to fix this
I know the part I need and decide to proceed to repair myself. Get the part from Mazda for the princely sum of $19.02 and change out the brake switch. Sure enough, can get out of Park, brake lights are back and the check engine light clears!
Feeling rather smug and pleased with myself, drive to work this morning, stop for a little traffic and... BANG.
Someone hits into the back of me! 3 weeks without brake lights without any problem, and then this!?!?!

It was just a tap and the only sign of damage is where the screw heads for the license plate made contact with the bumper. Exchanged details as a precaution in case more to it, but will probably let it go.
In the last month, needed CV joints on wife's car, changed out a broken garbage disposal and repainted the ceiling where ice dams caused water damage.
Going on vacation to Mexico tomorrow. Need to get myself out of here before something else breaks!

Have a great vacation.
For us, DH drove over a mound of ice left surrounding his truck by the snowplow the last big snowstorm. Lost power steering, leaking fluid. Now have to replace the entire power steering unit. One week until mechanic can get his hands on the Izusu part.
Apartment flooded for the second time in 16 months in January. This time just returned to the apartment after a hotel stay of 12 days while all wood floors were removed and replaced (3/4 of the apartment). Carpet was delivered but wrong color and furniture returned from storage and now furniture has to be [re]moved for installation of new carpeting tomorrow.
Such joy! We are going to Mississippi the end of March for our R&R.

Sounds like our house, just when Dh thinks he's going to get an actual day off something will break. In the last month he's fixed my car twice (two different things) and Ds's car twice and his car once.
Then his lawn tractor wouldn't start so he ordered parts for that and fixed it too. It's a never ending pit where money and time are sucked away.
