Can any body tell me if there are extra costs for pets when you arrive back at Gatwick? We will be travelling from Vancouver.I've been trying to work out the total costs, but buddy ell, its so confusing!
Do the pet documents have to be couriered to the airport (Vancouver) in advance?
We are flying from Vancouver Island with Air transat who are about as helpful as a chocolate teapot

Any help will met with karma, thanks

My 3 pets fly tomorrow (12th July) from Philadelphia to Heathrow so I can only talk of that route.
Flying BA there will be no additional cost when they land and the price I've been quoted in total is $1,780.
I also got a quote from Virgin Airlinesthat was a little cheaper however they did state that there would have been an additional fee upon landing, which if I remember correctly was around $300. I'm not sure what this is for but others on here may be able to enlighten you.
I hope this helps a little.

One more thing, although I'm again not sure if it's the same when flying from Canada, but the paperwork will be taken by me to the airport and given to the folks at BA cargo when I drop off the pets

I hope you don't kind me asking, but did they break down the prices for each one of your pets? Is it as simple as dividing the 1780 by three?

From what I could gather, the price is based on the size and weight of the crates (with the animals in them) so I was charged for the amount of cubic feet and the weight of the crates in the cargo hold. I don't have the exact measurements that they calculated at Philadelphia Airport, but I believe it was in the region of 30 cubic feet and around 50kg.
So, if you had three massive dogs to transport it would cost more than if you had 3 teeny tiny cats.
I'd originally thought they charged per animal too, but it would seem not to be so
