$200 Canadian per month in the winter for gas. Electricity about the same, every two months.

Hi

No gas in our house in Oxfordshire for heating. Electric heating(scarey).

Winter quarterly electric bill £310. quarterly - Summer, Spring, Autumn £80-£120.
We do use an open fire and calor heater as (@£100 pa in bottle gas this year).

Current rental is 1950 1200 sqft bungalow and is not well insulated.

Gas bill in our previous rental house was £510 for the year, electricity was £325 for the year.

Still better than $150-$200/mth for electricity and $300 for heating oil that we paid in Canada. One very cold February in Ontario we had a whopping $800 oil bill.

hudd

Yes she was away for the whole of March. She had the heating on tick over while she was away but certainly it is higher than our summer quarter of cooling thats for sure.

SW Ontario......
$78 month gas......heating not cooking, gas clothes dryer, used maybe twice a week;
$50 electric, cooking, a tiny little bit of heating, and all the usual lecky things............lighting, fridge, freezer, washer etc, etc.

There are only two of us and we are very frugal, especially with heating...we use hot water bottles a lot in winter when it gets VERY cold, and extra layers of clothing.

When in the UK last year (up till May), I think we were paying about £80 per month (all year round to even things out) for a 4 bed Victorian semi. Yours sounds about the same .... mind you, haven't the prices gone up a bit in the last year or so?
