Question Fleaflyfloflum

Has anyone heard anything about her or how her husband is?

I have been really worried since her last update. I do hope she was able to get to him and he is OK.

Does anyone know anything?

Hi PP

Thanks for your concern. I arrived back in Sydney ok. I was classed as a disabled passsenger and the treatment i received was superb. I flew with Malaysian Airlines. I had a wheelchair escort at every opportunity.

As for hubby, he not so good. He was released from hospital on Thursday as tests came up negative to anything serious. Sadly, yesterday, he became so unwell at home I took him back to A&E. He had a temp of 40.5 when we got there!! Cold sweat pouring off him and terrible stomach pain. I was so upset. I have never seen him like this. He not the kind of bloke who gets sick EVER!
His initial liver tests are abnormal, and the doc reckons it could be one of two things. Either he has a gallstone that has entered the bile duct, or he has an ulcer that could have perforated his pancreas. He had a CT scan during the night and is having a camera put down his throat sometime today. I had to come home at 3am as i could not stay awake any longer. I am hopong to find out the results of the tests when i go back this afternoon.
My good friend is coming over to help me. She is taking my dog out and driving me to the hospital. God bless her.

Thanks to everyone else for your input in my other thread and also the kind karma messages sent. It was much appreciated.

I knew if you asked for disabled assistance that you would be looked after and I am so glad.

At least he is in hospital now Flea and in the right place.

Remember to look after yourself while all this is going on as you are not well yourself.

If I lived nearer to you I would help in any way I can.

Take any offers of help and support, it will be priceless. I have never forgotten Gobbyjocks and Sorchars support when my Mum was ill and the support off other expats - it got me through a dreadful time.

Keep us posted, I have been so worried.

Thanx Tracey and Sue

Update is that he needs his gallbladder removed. In all honesty, I am relievewd thats what it is!! I was terrified he had something much nastier. As i had mine removed 2yrs ago, at least i know what top expect now.

I have only had 4hrs sleep in 4 days. I am hoping now I know what is going on i might be able to sleep tonight. My breathing has got worse but i think that is due to all the stress. One of the nurses at the hospital gave me a sneaky session on their nebulizer this afternoon..lol!! (strictly not allowed but she is an ex colleague of my husband)

PP... I know you cannot post at the moment and i hope the numbnuts sort things out, but i really do appreciate your offers of help etc. You are very kind.

Some please let PP post again it is not fair!!

So glad you know what the problem now is Flea - gall bladder removal is much easier these days and as long as you dont have to wait too long (it was elective surgery when I had mine out so thank goodness for HCF!) it will be fine.

Now I hope you can take some time to recover from your trip too and sleep a bit more easily again!
(((hugs)))

This must be a real weight off your mind - to know what is going on and to know that the procedure works. I hope you get a ton of deserved sleep now. Poor girl - what a mission of mercy you've just undertaken.

Bring me back some duty free - shit - live in Kuwait - thanks for the offer though!!

Flea, I am so sorry to hear about even more strife.
I'm glad that they have found out what the problem is, half the people around here seem to have had their gall bladders removed and are absolutely fine.
I really, really hope that you and your DH can get yourselves to a better place and soon, you've both had more crap to deal with in the past few months than some people have to deal with in a lifetime!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you both.

Really glad your husband is on the mend. It must be a great weight off your mind that it isn't anything more serious. Now, take some time to try to catch up on the much needed sleep. You're going to need some energy to take care of him when he gets home.

As for PP, the "numbnuts" was a problem with her changing her email address and she hadn't returned the confirmation email. She was never banned or unable to post because of any other reason. What's not fair is the flack the mods get over something they have no control over.

Flea, so glad that you know now what is wrong with your husband and it's getting sorted. As other's have said, now you can actually sleep knowing what it is. Please rest and take care of yourself
