If you are on your way back to the UK now is the time to buy your pounds.
At it's best since September now $2.24 to the pound.

You can do a forward contract like we have done many times with Moneycorp in London.
We did it when we were selling our house and they had the money when the house was sold.
Buying some pounds tonight and will settle next week when it's get's from our bank to them.

Rate is predicted to fall even more shortly. Just had a call from London.

It has gone much lower that that this year Deborah. When i went back in June i think it was around 2.15. Something ridiculous like that anyway.
I'm in the same boat as Nu Shooz. Cant exchange anything for at least a couple of weeks, so crossing fingers it keeps diving.

Wow, that's good! I got 2.06 in July when I was over and was kicking myself for missing the 2.04. Mind you the premium bonds have now reduced their prizes - still, it will be there waiting for me in March unless the dollar strengthens and I send some more over. It was 2.34 when I last looked.

The exchange rate is absolutely terrible. The British public are being utterly robbed by their stinking thieving politicians. Look at the pound relative to the euro and dollar over the past 4 months. The pound within the next 12 months will cease to exist and the UK will be using the euro.

We have just bought some at 2.26 from Moneycorp in the UK so fairly pleased with that.

If you keep repeating the same mantra every 6 months or so, eventually you might be correct.
