Hi, i wanted to know if there is a limit on the amount of cash i can bring from Europe to UK. I'm going to move there really soon and i don't have a UK bank account yet

You will be asked where it's from if you try to deposit any large amount, especially if it's a new account so be prepared to prove where it's from.

I have payslips and bank statements. Its about 10,000, it will be in my hand luggage when I go. I do hope it won't be a problem at the airport

It will depend on whether you are stopped at customs, they may show up on the x ray machines, I think we brought about 6,000 back with us, and had to deposit into our account in two lots, but we were asked where it had come from and the account had been open for several years. A new account will certainly encounter some questions.

OK thanks for that, I will probably put it all in my new account in one go. I have proof of where its from, so it should be alright
