I'm not out this weekend lol. Went to Liverpool last week and it was even better than Manchester.
Hush your mouth young lady...lol...yes I always had a great time in Liverpool...I liked the fact in was near the coast as well....it use to be like a lot of old Industrial Cities....really run down but what they have done to the docks etc is just amazing...have they finished the shopping centre yet...when we were last home we heard talk of a new shopping centre in the city centre and it was going to be the largest in Europe....staying in..you.....are you not well?..lol...

Anyone out there from, or going back to, Lincolnshire? We've been priced out of the South East where we came from, but Lincolnshire looks really nice, so that's where we're looking at.

What's it like living there for a family with teenage daughters? Looking for somewhere rural and non-estate.

(Just gonna put Radio 4 on the pute for my fix of English accents....)

We use to holiday a lot in Lincolnshire....funny in a way as many, many years ago we went to the old gaol (I think it was a gaol).. it was then a museum and the history was mainly of the convicts going to Australia...at that time we did not have even a thought in our heads about migration..small world..lol....some friends of ours (lost contact now) lived in a small town outside Lincoln and it was just lovely, they had two boys who were really nice and I know the local primary and high school they attended were very good...it's one of the counties that has more countryside than towns, cities etc so from a rural point of view thats good for you...and not very far from the coast as well as the bigger cities if you need a "city" fix....good luck and you should get plenty of help from this site.....

Thanks Brits! Looking forward to it even more now. I think having lived here where there is lots of countryside around, albeit different, we certainly want a quiet area, and I heard Lincolnshire was very rural.

Just got to sell up. Yet another Home Open this arvo - don't you just hate them? Will so miss the house though - wish we could uproot it and take it with us! lol.....

As the Removal guy said to me the other day..."its just bricks and mortar if your not happy here your home will not make up for it"..I do know what you mean though, in lots of ways I will miss the space but then again who knows what is around the corner...I am looking forward to a bit of DIY and making a house into a home again in the U.K....you'll be fine...we had so many home opens it was just getting unbearable but now when I look back it seems like eons ago and glad we just sold in the end...we have moved so often it's going to be nice just to settle somewhere for a while and I am a real home bird. Good luck.....don't forget Lincoln homes are a lot cheaper than most other counties so you might end up in a larger home than you have now if that is what you like....or you might realise you just don't need all those rooms as you'll never be at home...you'll be outdoors enjoying all that Lincoln etc has to offer....

We lived in WA many years ago and loved it. I particularly loved the scenery, the red earth, the desert, the bush. I think you either love that or hate it. In fact, after we moved back overseas and then to the UK we couldn't get our experience in WA out of our mind and it definitely changed our perspective on things.

Like a lot of things in life "somethings change" and alas WA has changed in the 12 years we have been here just like most modern Countries/States etc sometimes somethings are best kept as fond memories....but like I say to our two...you never know until you try it....why not come back to WA....if I felt like you I would if I could...life is way to short. Why did you leave it if you loved WA....if I felt like that every again about a place wild horses would not drag me away and if they did I'd be right back ASAP

Like many folks we were probably too young to fully appreciate what we had. However, we didn't want to settle down without seeing more of the world and this we did. And, the more we travelled we had that strong attraction to what we missed in the UK. That has made us ping-pong back to the UK many times from other places. However, we've finally got the UK out of our system and we realise we couldn't really settle back there again. Perhaps, we might make it back to WA some day, as we're in NZ now.
