Post Cash For Peerages

Looks like Tony is going to interviewed by the Police. Could they actually arrest him while he is in Office?

Oh, wish I'd known about this.

Lady TouristTrap has quite a distinguished ring to it, don't you think?

Isn't it amazing that after all the Blair Party's attempts to remove the hereditary peers from the House of Lords and to "clean up" the system we are no hearing the (alleged) truth of the honour system during his sojourn.

The party of the people seems to have fallen into the Thatcher trap of believing it's own publicity.

I hope that this (if true) becomes Tony's very own Watergate (Peeragegate ??). If there is one thing I cannot stand it is hypocrisy.

p.s. I am typing this in Atlanta airport on a 10 hour stopover (don't ask) on the way to Manchester. Heaven knows what Internet access I will have during two weeks vacation in rural England and Scotland.

Have a great holiday in the UK. My husband loves Scotland, he visited in 2001, and loved it. Glencoe (SP?), Sterling (SP?) and the Western Isles.

Could'nt you get an easier route to the UK from the Fort Myers area?

Politicians everywhere get too comfortable when they are power for too long, they think they are untouchable.

Your spelling is correct.

The original flight was RSW-LAG-JFK-MAN but on arrival at RSW this morning we were offered a change to RSW-ATL-MAN which meant we did not have to schlep our bags LAG-JFK. Amazingly, you cannot check your bags through on that route.

Unfortunately we did not know about this opportunity until we had spent $35 to get to RSW for our original flight. Hence the 10-hour stopover.

However, we are in the Delta lounge which at least is comfortable and quiet and has free booze. I am on my 2nd double Dewar's Rocks at 2pm. Best watch it so as not to upset the thought police at the gate.

There are no direct flights from RSW to the UK although with our new expanded airport they may come. Our normal choices are via ATL or MIA to either MAN or LHR.

By the way, the food here in ATL is appalling. Nathan's, Arbey's, MacDonalds, Panda Express or Italian Kitchen. I believe there is a Houlihan's and a Chili's in another terminal but you have to leave security to get there. The Bar next door the this lounge actually has a real menu but their grill is broken so no grilled food.

ATL = SUX

One good thing about the American system is that a President can only have 2 terms.

A bad thing about the American system is that it is almost impossible to get them out during a term unless you can impeach them (e.g. Nixon).

At least in the UK an election can be called at any time if circumstances are right.

The concept of resigning on a point of principle or honour would do well to take root in American politics.

The prospect of any President resigning on a point of principle is as likely as little green men going to KFC and asking to for Fish & Chips lol.

So far we have'nt used ATL, now we will try to avoid it like the plague. We do have friends just outside Atlanta, in Grayson. We have been thinking of either flying up there or possibly driving. I think we may drive now!! The free booze sounds good though. Have a couple on us
