Car insurance
Anyone know how I can get reasonable car insurance ? I have a green UK license , but can't use it due to non resident and mum's old address. I spend about 5 months in UK at present ( which could be more in next couple of years) and therefore rent cars with my US license. I also heard that you can drive up to a year on US license , but am wondering if that means when the UK becomes my primary residence? Thank you

Re: Car insurance
Once you take up residence in the UK you just need to get your UK licence reissued.
Driving on a foreign licence (for up to 12 months) does not apply if you already have a UK licence, and indeed using a foreign licence when you live in the UK and you have a UK licence is not legal.
