Starline who operate in Edmo and Calgary are often recommended, but not cheap.

Upakweship are cheap and reliable but, as the name implies, you do your own packing.

We are moving this month, using a container supplied by Upakweship, doing our own packing, but hiring Starline to do the loading.

This worked out the cheapest option using two reputable and highly recommended companies.

Look out for cowboys. I got several cheap quotes from companies, did Google searches and found stinking reviews. These didn't just include poor packing and damaged goods, but not turning up on the day, and demanding more money after they had taken away the container.

That seems to vary a lot and can be anything between six weeks and three months. As far as I can discover, from Edmo and Calgary the container goes to Vancouver by rail, then back again east to Toronto, where it sits and waits for a ship to become available.

The time depends on weather and volume of traffic. Part containers take longer than if you have your own container.
