Re: British TV is the best in the World.
Thanks for all the tips but I often look at this site at work (especially night shift) and so don't have the option of swapping things around on the keyboard so I'll just have to live with it

What about SBS? Is there an equivalent in the UK where you get the best foreign language movies and some great English language docos? SBS is by far my fav station. The little I watch from the commercial stations I just record on my Tivo and skip over the ads. Problem solved.

It was specifically designed to work with the keypad on the right only.

Yes British TV is the best in the world ...
You might not think that if you haven't lived anywhere else but it's true !!

I second that thought. I have finally subscribed to satellite TV and watch BBC America religiously. Yes, I know there are repeats after repeats, but I am still glued.............

Hmm dont know about the aussie ads, the difference I noticed here in USA is that whereas the ads in UK were of uniform sound level and you got some silence between ads with some kind of fade out - here they just form a continuous stream of noise, often running into eachother with no separation and an ocassional jump in volume just to keep you awake. I dont think there is a rulebook at all.
The PBS channel has some excellent stuff, I watched a documentary on Mark Twain that must have occupied 4 hours over 2 nights, it was as good as anything the beeb could have done, brilliantly filmed and narrated, but ... most of the tv I watch is downloaded from thebox, just too much good stuff there and with no ads.
