Default Boroughbridge

Hi, Anyone know anything about this area of North Yorkshire. We are hoping to move back to there from New Zealand next year.
We have randomly picked the area and really like the look of it and the local high school.

Any helpful information greatly recieved.

I don't know Boroughbridge but keep seeing signs to it, we're not too far away in Harrogate. I'm biased as I was born & bred in N Yorks but I think it's a beautiful area of the country.

We chose Harrogate on the basis of schools too (and haven't been disappointed). My one question to you would be employment - Harrogate is commutable to Leeds & York but not sure how easy it is to get to Boroughbridge and I don't think there are jobs a-plenty here at the moment.

Good luck!

Its not too bad a drive to Leeds (40 mins), Harrogate (25) or York (30), so commuting by car wouldn't be a problem although I expect the traffic will be a bear.

Looking it up, the nearest train station is 15 minutes away, but there are regular buses to Leeds, York and Harrogate.

I think that area is lovely. You're close to Ripon too. And you have the Dales on one side and The North York moors on the other. Seems like a good choice to me!

Hi,

Thanks to you both.
We come from Coventry. My sister is in Manchester. The area all around looks lovely. Schools played a massive role in our choice. Boroughbridge high school have been very helpful with anything we have asked and seemed a good size for our son to hopefully go into.
As for employment, a huge part of the move. We have been very lucky in that my husbands NZ employer want to keep him on so he will contract for them alone.

Thanks for the help.

Carole
