For all of you that have returned have any of you brought Booze back, did you need to pay VAT on it? I have 12 bottles of wine and the packers have told me I am likely to pay 5GBP on each bottle is this true? some of it came from UK when I came over 13 months ago after shopping in france (Well travelled Wine)

I think you should open a bottle, and then start to contemplate how important it would be to take 11 bottles back with you.
Tomorrow night, contemplate the thought of taking back 10 bottles.
In less than a fortnight your solution is found. You'll be hungover, spotty and have put on 8lbs, but hey, problem sorted
