In the house we're renting, you can sit on the sofa and see the grass outside in the gap where the skirting board meets the wall - it's so well built!

We've got some sort of spikey, brown stuff which was green when we moved here and I reckon the previous owners spray painted the colour on cos it's all gone now ;)

Well, yes, it is a bit more like "scrub", but whatever it is, you can see a long 12 inch slit of it!!!!

I think it's called air conditioning here ;)

We have some huge gaps in the mortar around the windows which you would expect to have sealant around, but no, just lots of nice holes for wasps and bugs to live in. I asked a friend about it and he said "yeah, standard stuff here, you need it to keep the air flowing" :confused:

well I moved back to the Uk after 2 years in Barbados and 11 years in Sedona Arizona and I gotta tell you it is the best thing I have ever done,I timed it so I could at least have a good summer first before winter set in and I have not regretted it.It was a little strange on the job front cos its a new system now, you have to first of all lucky to be selected for a phone interview then if you pass that then you get a face to face interview and then wait for a few weeks until you may or may not hear from them.

Contrary to what everyone believes living in the USA is not what its cracked up to be. I paid a lot in taxes and also had health insurance which cost me a fortune every month and unfortunately feel ill with the dreaded Cancer, still ended up paying over $12,00 of my own money, and also if it wasnt for family help would have lost the house.

Back where my heart has always been and loving every minute of it.

Yep, got those as well and we struggle to fit 2 plugs in if we have an adaptor going. :blink:

Well done for getting home, I'm glad you're happier. My best friend lives in Ohio (she's from the US) and hates it. She's had cancer as well so her insurance is sky high now. I hope you are well and recovered, I can't imagine falling ill here as I don't think I'd do anything about it for fear of costs. :(
