a couple of sites I used to use are www.stilwell.co.uk and www.ruralretreats.co.uk (they are more weekend/weekly rentals but they have some fabulous properties - stayed in a number of them and never disappointed)

What about travelodge and premier inns. My husband took the kids up to visit his parents at Christmas and he got a deal for £15 per night.

We have been looking at B & B sites for end of summer all over south coast. Here are a couple of sites:

www.bedandbreakfastnationwide.com

www.farmhousebedandbreakfast.co.uk

www.farmstays.co.uk

We have found that the price range is mostly about 50-60Pound. The odd one can be found for less. We like farmhouses so checked out those too.

Do a search on Yahoo and put in Bed and Breakfast for the area or County you need. You will come up with a lot of sites.
