I havent seen this bloke at all - is that because they think that there are no Poms in Canberra perhaps? Not that I am missing much from all accounts!

No, neither have I and I 'm in Melbourne...maybe I don't watch the right channels, cos there is so much choice

Luckily my problems are only on super contributions earn't here, as I left my other pensions in the uk, so a pain, but not a disaster.

5 years from date of arrival we can take our funds with us if we were to choose to leave. That is a period in which the uk govt requires the fund to be invested in a participating fund (with various UK reporting requirements).

In our case we are temporary visa holders but an American in my previous office took back his fund after 10 years in Oz. I am assuming he was on a permanent residency status as he came from another employer here in Oz and had no assistance with visa from our employer.

Even if you could access your pension legally, you wouldn't be able to logistically as millions of pension funds here have been frozen anyway, due to the gross mismanagement of other people's money from Aussie 'experts'.
