Not in prison they aren't....
I'm here for money. When I've hit a certain point I will very very gladly leave.
Also - the choice was, Perth or Dubai. I don't particularly want to go to Perth but if those are the two options on the table, then Perth it is.

I enjoyed my one in prison actually
very 'cell block H'
Dubai is ok, but for me it lacks any real community spirit or soul. We will never want to integrate with the locals and they dont want us to. W10 i agree, make your dosh then head to a better place to 'live' and not exist

I didn't know where Dubai was when I got on the plane for secondment out here for 2 months. I knew where UAE was but until I saw the moving map on the plane I didn't exactly know where I was going.....3 years later................

I thought you could not get drink here! Found Hard Rock Cafe and would go there for my fix a few times a week. After 3 almost dry weeks I realised the truth

Re: Why are we still here?
I first came here in 92 and to say it was different was an underatatement, I remember drinking in the Seamans club in Bur Dubai and also in the TGI Thursdays and Pancho Villa's (we were going to have a dwarf throwing competition)
Also there was of course the legendary highland lodge, but we got banned there for being too rowdy.
Those were the days
in fact, i am now friends (in Glasgow) with the people who used to manage the Highland Lodge in 92

I think everyone goes through a few dry spells out here at first....
Everyone at home thinks there are no bars or pubs here and you can't drink.
They all think i dress in black and ride round on a camel.

U mean you don't dress in black and ride around on a camel? So that is why everyone stares at me on SZR.

Re: Why are we still here?
I was kind of bored, went here for holiday once and while I was here got offered a job.
They offered me a package - turned it down, they offered me more. When I got here I realised I should have asked for even more.
Now I think I'm being paid a fair wage (for dubai)
