"It suits Tehran, which has previously sponsored terrorism in Saudi Arabia, to have a gateway into the Arab Gulf. To some extent the mini-state is under its protection. This could, however, attract the attention of Sunni al-Qaeda extremists fighting pro-Iranian Shias in Iraq. "
Lol... what a stupid article!
UAE is a Sunni Country and its under no agreement with Iran as a matter of fact it has an Issue with Iran over Abu musab Islands.
UAE is under protection (some what) of Sultanate of Oman!
and Mr Writer forgot to mention the arrest of 300 Omani's who were caught with heavy arms.... this was in the news!
My Comment:
his article is nothing more than a FAIRY TALE.

Also Iran has no conflicts with Saudia!
If there is any country that is Sponsoring Terorrism or agaitating terorrism! - Than its USA.
In any country or region around the globle, if we found problems and thats is where we find Uncle Sam! I wonder why?

Something else that's risen is the cost of the invasion to the USA. It was originally sold to the American people as a short war followed by reconstruction that would cost a bargain $1.7 billion, tops (this was when Bush, Cheney and Rove were listening to Ahmed Chalabi because he was telling them what they wanted to hear). The current cost of the invasion is $202 billion.
But I digress. What were we talking about again?

Well, the differences are.
1) You are still missing the point in that we aren't 'targeting' civilians. Collateral damage is very different from flying hijacked planes into buildings full of civilians.
2) So, we can afford it, you see, it pays to be #1.

What difference does it make? People are dying..as if the US didn't know it was going to happen?? At least they don't hide behind lies and futile excuses..
