someone comes on, starts posting what isn't like the normal I am moving to so and so and help me please...one thing leads to another and posters are supposed to pussyfoot around because maybe mabye this poster is sensitive...

No, just use a bit of common courtesy and be careful what you say to new posters until you've got to know them a bit better.
Who said anything about pussyfooting? Why not just keep it factual?

There isn't. Asking people what they do for a living is a pretty innocent question, and saying that you want to know because you're "nosey" is pretty lighthearted. It doesn't automatically follow that the poster is on the same humour wavelength as everyone else.
