Hi, I just want to know what chance I might get in Qatar?
As I’m one of those dazzled about Qatar I sat myself up a goal that to catch up the World Cup 2022’s preparations in terms of constructions and building environment as an engineer.
This year is my final year in BSc Architectural Engineering and I’m expecting to graduate in the summer 2013 with grade of A Class. I’m planning to go for MSc Structural Engineering the following year, if I’m still alive’! My question is for those engineers who are already on the ground there in Qatar and for those relevant companies owners what specifically the topic the most wanted in Civil or Architectural Engineering in Qatar that I should focus on and make it my main dissertation project for example such as Structural Elements Design Calculations or Soil Mechanics etc..
Also what if I decide to stop at BSc degree and look for job in Qatar would I find one easily? What salary and benefits would I get? Knowing that I have the following qualifications:
1)A Civil Engineering Diploma in buildings construction (2 years) from Kuwait.
2)A Professional Licence in Civil Engineering in draughts and designing (1 year) from France.
3)A BSc Architectural Engineering (3 years) from UK.
4)I speak flawlessly Arabic, French and English.
5)A French citizen.
I appreciate in advance the answers and the advices that you will be giving.

Hi and welcome to BE.

No one here can really answer you questions about what type of salary and benefits you would get. All those things depend on so many factors, including the company, position, and your expereinces etc.

There are lots and lots of threads about Qatar in this forum, so your best bet would be to read through the other threads on BE to see if anyone has posted about their experiences in Qatar rather than just posting general questions. You need to do the legwork yourself, no one here can do that for you. Once you've read the other threads you may have a better idea of the info you are looking for, or at the least have some more specific follow-up questions that you may want to ask.

thank you Sue for your reply and for your time. I have been through the links. They gave me better idea and opened a big door to many questions
Obviously it is going to be really complicated for my case when I tell you that I have 5 children (12, 8(girl), 4(twins) and 2). Realising that schools will be a nightmare and real problem.
I thank you anyway for your time. But I'm still open to any suggestions or ideas.
So what about Saudi Arabia does anyone else got an idea?
