Go for a 8 kg and 1100-1400 rpm spin (dryer clothes)

Yes, the kitchen or utility room is usually best...try Lulus, Hyper Panda or CF.

Is it a European style 2-pin with an integral earth, or a Japanese style with just 2 pins??? If it is the Japanese style, do not buy the machine. It's bad enough to have an unearthed table-lamp or phone charger, for a washing machine where you have high current and water it is madness not to have an earth....
Otherwise, it is a simple matter to re-wire a plug. There are several idiot's guides on the internet as to how to go about this. Make sure there is an adult present to supervise.
One of the most important considerations, I have always felt, when selecting a washing machine is the intricacies of the debate of top-loading versus front-loading. I would be fascinated to hear what other posters feel about this dilemma of modern living.
