Default Visiting Local Families or Settings?

As you all know, the mother-in-law is visiting, and we would simply love to take her to a cultural place where she can get a taste of the local UAE culture, but we have no idea where to go for this sort of thing. Ideally we would love to take her to a local family but we have no local friends and it would be rather rude of us to just pay a visit to any random local family Surely there must be a place were we can let her experience authentic local culture, and perhaps converse with a local in a friendly setting? Any help? Face, dear?

Maybe not exactly what you are looking for but have you visited Heritage Village by Shindagha Tunnel? You must sample the food at Kan Zaman restaurant. Ask to be seated and served by Nasser. Waiters sometimes leave a bit to be desired but food is great and Nasser too.

How about Heritage Village in Hatta. They start at 5pm and the setting in the mountains is just beautiful.

DE, Hatta Heritage village is very nice and cultural but you cant eat their you have to go to Hatta Fort Hotel and thats a hardship!!!

Try going to Al Ain and get away from the commercialism of the Cities, also the Drive to the East Coast takes you through fantastic scenery, loads of places to lose a Mother in Law!!

Or a overnight Safari may appeal to her

since u asked so nicely ........

Ur best bet wud be the Heritage Village at Shindaga....... Also attached to the same facilty are Sheikh Saeeds House and the Fishing Museum. Sheikh Saeeds house is an actual home, fully furnished and well worth seeing. As far as I remember, entrance is free.

The Heritage Village in Hatta is good too. Not as good as the one in Shindaga though. With the DSF on, there must be LOADS of cultural and heritage related stuff going on at the Heritage village at Shindaga... they even serve up local cuisine prepared by local women. Well tasty!

Get onto www.mydsf.com and check out l the cultural activities. There is no shortage. Trust me. Good luck.
