Anyone know anything about this from gulf News today - it would appear to screw over anyone who needs to do visa runs

Anyone know if this actually changes anything r is it just bluster?

No change from my understanding...if people have to apply for a visa (so that excludes the 30 or so nationalities like us Brits) they can't come and go and come back again on the same visa - and they will have to wait 30 days after exiting to apply for a new visa.

It doesn't look like anything new, however, if it is case of actually enforcing the old rules, then a few people may be in a spot of bother.

Maybe someone woke Al Merri from a sleep, and he just blurted something out..

I don't understand why people are getting so het up about this. It has always been illegal to work without residency and who can afford to stay here without working?

i know of a lot of guys who come here to work on a rotation from their home country.

they work the 30 days and then usually fly to Doha and re-enter.

Never had any issues with this but am told everywhere that this is not allowed and wont be tolerated.

well it does happen with about 20 guys i know.
