I saw a program on telly the other day showing exactly this happening in the UK.

Only it was a fat girl being discriminated against, all her fit blonde mates were allowed in while the Heather from Eastenders look alike was left out in the cold.

Those who have spent any time in the North of England will know that if the nightclub does operate this discriminatory policy, then the KFC down the road effectively replaces the nightclub as 'last chance saloon' for the gentleman who has had a less than successful night.

Well yes there will always be some discrimination and private clubs do have a right to select their clientelle.

But there's a big difference for not being allowed into Stringfellows because you're a bit chubby and poorly dressed and not being allowed into an average bar or club because your have more or less melanin in your skin than others.

It's being stuck up and picky vs being racist and bigoted...personally being turned away for not wearing a tie won't rub me up the wrong way half as much as being turned away because my ancestors had too much or too little sunlight
