Oh my. You will be asking next if anyone has become friends with one of those ghastly taxi drivers.
It will be the end of the empire when we start to become friendly with these savages. FFS |

Why wouldn't we? Commander Human Being And I'm also a 'worker' No wonder londoners are universally hated I think that it's normal in every society to socialise or become friends with people from your own social background or circle...simply because you have more things in common with those people, because you are more likely to meet those people and because it's easier to do things together. You go to the same kind of places, you have the same sort of money to spend on activities or when going out for a meal for instance. |

At home my two best mates are a plasterer and a postie, it is very unlikely that I would be able to socalise with people doing those jobs here - For all the reasons MataHari has pointed out, yet in England this is quite normal. |

MM, xx Tragic attempt at dry humour., I never heard anyone say that "I was out with John last night and he does laundry at the Hilton hotel". The people who people seem to meet always appear to be top brass. |

Re: Up the workers!!!
Its funny how no one here ever considers themselves to be the idiots claiming to be the CEO/Director/Top Brass.
Are you all just the nice average Brits, as opposed to the loud, boozy brunch, look at my huge villa and two 4x4's Brits? I socialized with 2 accountants, a manager and a financial controller at the weekend, no CEO's or shop assistants in sight. |
