Re: Troubling times at Raha Beach
My arabic is kind of very bad but is this not likely to affect the real estate market?

According to my contacts it says that residence visas for homeowners will be introduced, needs to be updated twice a year..or is someone pulling my leg?

it would be a lot better if only those with the facts would comment but that would not make for juicy reading, would it?

Maybe rhrhrh has already been given his/her envelope from ALOR, parked his/her car at the airport and gone back to where he/she came from. Either that or if they say anymore, people will work out who it is and they may be the first to get their envelope in the next batch due shortly.

Looks like rhrhrh was right after all - sounds like HR have been churning out the letters and there is more to come. It's certainly a lot more than the published figures.

Any whispers as to who will be taking over from LOR? If Aldar are serious about completing a project of this size which is not due to end until 2018 (en route to increasing the population of Abu Dhabi to 3 milliion) then surely the liquidity crisis shouldn't be the main factor at work here....? It's not as if housing isn't still in demand in Abu Dhabi either. Presumably this project will re-start with a new main contractor and off we go again....?

50 more "at risk" letters were handed out last week - seems LOR are not flavour of the year in AD! They have given up with the press releases now - seems like it would be too embarrassing to keep issuing them.
