Happens all over Dubai...I was asked my nationality once by a bouncer in some crap hole in Karama or wherever...no doubt because he couldn't figure out why I had a rather convincing Queen's English accent but didn't have blue eyes or blonde hair (he was Indian btw - and they are apparently experts in determiningg ethnic groups for their apartheid door policies being so well travelled and all)...I made a very big scene after that and refused to go in once he decided he needed his job more than his ego.

Asians being allowed into bars is a recent thing in Dubai if you were a British Asian you had to take your passport with you. what amazed me was when I used to say to friends, gosh there are no Asians in here, they never even noticed!!!

That'll leave 8 people out of pocket...
