Does anyone know if Trader Joe's is going to open a store in the new mall on Takhassusi street here in Riyadh?

Lord, I'd be shocked if they did. There are no TJs outside the US and Canada so why would the first overseas store be in Saudi?

Saudi is booming, they can have most anything they want! There is a real drive for healthy organic foods here.

Riyadh is franchise central. Got every fast food, health food, food store going. Although my fave from visits to Barcelona 'Pans & Co' that was down Olaya has just shut down - still think there's one in Dubai Mall...hmmn Tortilla Sandwich

You sure you didn't see the sign for Trader Vic's? I'd be stoked for a TJ's, but wouldn't expect to see one very soon as I'd guess they make most of their $ in alcohol.

Only one store in the state of Mass is allowed to sell booze, and TJ's still doing really well here, so that's probably not such a big deal...

no booze sold in TJ in maryland either.do miss it and Wholefoods a lot.
