Too young??
Hi all. Im in the construction industry and have been offered a job out in dubai. I would just like some advice from the people who have emigrated out there if they would recomemend it at what i presume is a relatively young age of 24? Ill be coming over on my own too. What im trying to ask is does anyone belive ill be better waiting a few years? Obviously no one knows my personality but if the average expat comunity is of say middle 30s there is an obviouse age gap in the quest to make good friends.

I'm sure you'll have no problem. There are loads of younger people here. I for one am on the right side of 30 also
Perth (Oz) was definitely a 'younger' place, however I think Dubai has a better mix, and I am sure you will settle in well and make a new set of friends quickly here.

So long as you have a well paid job and don't mind the summer heat, Dubai will suit you nicely. It's definitely a place for the younger generation (over 21) rather than us old fogies.

Even here on the compound in KSA,there are quite a few 'young' folk around - you know the type....being loutish, drinking loads of non alcoholic beer, driving fancy cars, wearing fancy dan clothes....
Seriously, the guy living downstairs from me was late 20's,the other who in the same block are a diverse mix with me perhaps being the most advanced in years! As others have said, age is just a number, its your attitude that will determine your success.

....... which makes us very similar really.
More seriously, I find age gaps a generally positive thing especially where the opposite sex is concerned ...... after all, who wants to spend all their time hanging around with attractive young women in their mid-twenties????
