I know nothing of Al Ahsa, but something tells me you'll struggle to find what you're looking for. You could probably find a gym for women somewhere, but a pool...? Fitness time and Bodymasters are the two big companies so contact them. Saudis aren't big on swimming generally. I doubt very much that a hotel would let women swim. Your best bet is to find a compound with a pool, and a friend living on that compound. Bear in mind that it's unlikely that an outdoor pool will be heated, so you'll only be using it May to September probably.

When I last checked (which granted was five years ago) no five star hotel pools in Khobar were accessible to women at any time. That may have changed, but it kind of illustrates what you are up against. Al Ahsa is going to be behind any changes in social reform though. As suggested your best bet would be to either live on (unlikely) or befriend someone on (more likely) a compound where you can go and swim regularly as their guest.

From what i have read on other forums most hotels have outdoor pools that are Male only

Any hotel that doesn't have an indoor heated pool is definitely not worth going to, and almost certainly won't let women swim. Plus the fact that although in some high end hotels you can sign up for a one-month membership, they are very pricey compared to the gyms. I used a Movenpick for a month in winter onetime and it was 800 SAR.

Compounds are the best bet.

I used to be a member of women only Astralis Healthclub & Spa in Khobar. They had a lovely pool for swimming and lots of other activities. There maybe something like that in Al Ahsa at one of the major hotels or similar.
Was just reading on “TripAdvisor” the Best Western Al Ahsa has male/female spa and indoor pool. Worth asking them.
